What my main characters taught me
Writing Morgan and Jo has been a weird little mirror, I didn't expect to look into. Like I thought I was just writing a fantasy about witches and Fae and time rifts. Instead the characters are like here's your trauma loud and clear. First of all, RUDE! no one asked you. But here we are: Joanna taught me that being soft isn't weak. She's quiet until she's not. Fire energy HELLO! Morgan is that chaotic little gremlin side of me that I love to let out every now and again. She's fiery and fun and honestly? Mood. Sometimes survival comes with a little chaos and sometimes it's hidden in the quiet. I didn't plan for my characters to teach me anything but they did. And I'm learning that's a part of the magic...building a world and putting it to paper is incredibly difficult but it's amazing and feels lived in.…

When the days are hard
There are days I feel like a real author, and then there are days when it feels like I can’t do anything right. Those days: the hard ones make me want to just ball up and quit. I’ll stare at my sales dashboard, watching the number that never moves, and think, Who am I kidding? Can I actually do this?
But deep down, I know that one day, my voice will matter. My words will matter. So I keep showing up. I keep writing. Even when no one’s watching, even when the silence is loud, I keep plugging away anyway.
